Very interesting.... but only if you have a legit excuse not to get a proper job! I love all this kind of stuff; but I can't think of a dafter or more useless niche subject in all academe. I'm leaning toward Richard being pissed of with JC is JC being the Word and Richard thinking of himself as the Last Word. LOL!!! He's coming over much more pompous git than he usually does in his professional wheelhouse in his dealings with you. This is more what I'd expect of his secular political pontifications. I love the man; but boy can he be an ass at times! I've not read in this more than half way; but I think you are winning on points atm. You rock so far and I'm looking forward to what you publish outside of inter-collegiate spats
Thanks Steven, for the vote of confidence, and in my defence I do think I have a legit excuse, that being that I've got a pretty serious neurological condition that affects the use of my legs. So I think I'm allowed to sit around and read about weird ancient stuff all day.
I am very confused by Dr. Carrier's responses, he seems to not understand my main point at all (which isn't much more than a more elaborate version of the same point he makes about Pliny and Tacitus and whoever not being independent witnesses). I am, in all honesty, really struggling to understand what he thinks I'm saying, and how he gets what he thinks I'm saying from what I'm saying. I am, actually, baffled. If you could shed any light on that I'd be grateful.
re: your other comment I might work on something like that, but I need to set stuff up with banks and all that and haven't done it yet. I do appreciate the sentiment and might get around to that at some point.
As you can see now, I've subscribed, so at your leisure. I left Richard a flea in his ear. I really hope he comes round to what a .... numpty he is being; but on past outings he is just as likely to double down. This isn't even his baby; 95% of his case is a chap called Earl Doherty Richard's fans contracted him to refute Earl and he found he couldn't. He was a rabid anti-Myther. Now he is all Paul 17 years plus after Damascus!

Thanks very much for that - though now I need to open a bank account that's able to handle international payments, which I'd never thought of before!
